A Little Sisterna History
In 1873, Rosario and Carmelita Sisterna sold shares in their farmland to the Berkeley Land and Town Improvement Association, retaining title and the right to subdivide and sell off lots. During the following decade, the block was settled by immigrants from Mexico, Chile, Ireland, and Germany. Originally divided into 24 lots, the Historic District comprises 11 lots with nine houses, all built between 1877 and 1893 and representing popular Victorian architecture styles of the era: Pioneer Victorian, Italianate, San Francisco Stick, and Queen Anne.
If you want to satisfy your inner geek, here is detailed article on the background of the area.

What comes before Part B?
So, our apartment building turns 100 this year. Or at least we thought it did. Turns out our building was constructed in 1892. So, we just have 18 more years to add to the celebration!
Like we really need a reason to celebrate, anyway.
Friday, February 5 at 9:30PM the fun commences! We are going super theme-y and keeping our original Centennial idea. Tony & I created 100 things to bring, wear and do. We have created a separate entry for each. Feel free to do as many as you want. Just let us know in the COMMENT section. We will update the list every few days, so you can see what's left. If you have any questions, just let us know.
We are super excited to have you party like it's 1910 (or 1892) with us!
-Hope & Tony
